Ryuu
Ryuu's full name is Ryuu Hitashi. He was born a dragon and the son of the Dragon Emperor, but when he fell for Oni, his father cursed him to stay in the form of a human until, basically, the end of time. Ryuu is kind of the person to make the best out of a bad situation, so he moved in with Oni and lives in a secluded cave near the summit of Mount Fuji, until the events of the comic (still a hush-hush topic, you guys :P) turn everything in their lives upside-down. Ryuu has orange hair and white skin, broken up with the occasional patch of bluish-white scales. He has orange eyes and his eyebrows are actually orange bony ridges above his eyes.
Oni
Oni has existed since, basically, the beginning of time. He has no last name, no parents, and no existing family. The only person he's close to is Ryuu, and the only platonic friend he has is Tamamo-no-Mae, the nine-tailed fox witch. When Oni becomes angry, stand back. You've all seen Japanese oni masks before, right? He looks just like that. And he has a giant iron club >.>
Edgar
Edgar's full name is Edgar Silas Whitemane. He was written out of his father's will when he was sixteen, when he was caught kissing the family's stable boy, James. He was sent off to live with his aunt Nessa, and five years later he was reunited with James when his father re-wrote him into the will, days before he died. He lives in the higher-end suburbs of Victorian London, where he lives in the old Whitemane Manor with a small staff of two maids, two butlers, a chef, and a stableboy, as well as James.
James
James Gregor has no living family. He worked as a stableboy for Master Whitemane when he was young, but unbeknownst to him, he is the last blood-related member to the creator of a secret organization called the White Rose. The White Rose is a sort of Victorian vigilante group, who fight against the Fifth Ace, a Victorian crime ring. James must overcome the social prejudices that come with being the 'man-friend' of a lord, and also with being the head of the White Rose.
Orion
Orion is a Kelpie from the Bering Strait. His long red hair and green tail sometimes get him confused with Ariel from The Little Mermaid, and he absolutely despises that. Kelpies and Merfolk have been at war for three and a half centuries, but thankfully the northern Kelpie clans see very few Merfolk save for Rock Naga. He lives in a shallow cove with Andromeda, his best friend and recently turned lover.
Andromeda
Andromeda is also a Kelpie from the Bering Strait. Andromeda has long iridescent raven hair and a dark purple tail. He and Orion have been friends since they were too young to even know what friends were. Until recently, Andromeda and Orion wouldn't have looked at each other any other way, but like most things, it snowballed into young love. Like most Kelpies, Andromeda has a thing for shiny objects found on the ocean floor and has a small area of their cove full of them, (it mostly includes trash and dropped sunglasses from whaling trips.)
